Clever Winter Activities For Kids

It’s that time of the year again when out come the thick hoodies and the jackets! Winter season is loved by all. Parents love winters because the weather is pleasant and the kids love it because it’s the season of holidays, fun and of course, Santa Claus!

This winter, we list below fun things you can do with your children and family. You can try something new this time around; could be anything from preparing a new, seasonal snack to visiting a new place that’s best visited during this season. If you’re looking for specific ideas of what needs to be done during this season, here are some suggestions for your kids and you:

1) Visit a Snowy Place:

Winter is normally all about snow, but in India, only the northern parts of the country receive snowfall. Children do associate winter with snow, so experiencing it is usually a one of a kind experience. So, try visiting a snowy place this season and introduce your child to snow first hand. You can have your own little snowball fight and even make snow angels. But if you can’t make it to the north this time around, you can still experience the snow here! How you may ask? There are malls across cities nowadays with artificial snow centres where you can have a similar experience. One way or another, definitely try it out this season.

2) Homemade Snowballs:

Okay, so this might sound a bit messy, but it does definitely guarantee tons of fun! All you need is loads of toilet paper rolls. Tear them out and create snowballs out of them. Since children love to mess things up and play with them, this would be right up their ally. So a messy snowball fight inside the house will be loads of fun.

3) Stories and Cuddles:

Winter seasons make you want to roll inside your favourite blanket and lay just there for the rest of the day! So, when the temperatures dip, grab a huge blanket where everyone can get in. Take your child’s favourite storybook and enjoy some stories inside the warmth of the blanket. Children love the warmth of their parent’s body and such story-telling sessions will ensure that the parent-child bond only grows stronger.

4) Hot Chocolate:

Well, who doesn’t love hot chocolate! Gather all your child’s friends to your home and indulge in a small hot chocolate party! Yummy, delicious and warm drinks will keep the children healthy, winter-ready and happy!

There are plenty of activities out there, and all you have to do is pick one that works best for you. Winters don’t necessarily mean that you have to stay at home and bore yourself. Let the creativity flow and enjoy the best of what the season has to offer. Happy Winter everyone!
